  • One-piece overstrung iron frame -- A cast-iron plate produced as one single unit as opposed to when parts of the plate are bolted together.
  • Outer rim -- The outside of a grand piano cabinet.,
  • Overstringing / Overstrung scale -- A stringing design used by all modern pianos where the base strings overlap some of the treble strings as opposed to straight stringing where all the strings are parallel. Overstringing allows the piano to be smaller without sacrificing bass string length.

  • Overtone -- A high-pitched sound that a string produces which is not part of its fundamental tone.
